Thanksgiving Food Drive: 11/21/08

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Dear Patients & Members of the Community,

With your help we were able to exceed our goal for the Central Virginia Foodbank. We collected over 800 items and over 700 pounds of food in time for Thanksgiving.

Thank you for helping us to tell story about true thanksgiving. One that comes through service as we have pulled together to offer a helping hand to make this Thanksgiving special for all. Our office served only as a catalyst in this Thanksgiving Food Drive, as the real success story was one of genuine hearts giving willingly for a common good. We are truly grateful to have been involved. As we draw upon our own values for the well-being of our community, the true reward was seeing the translation of the same values in others.

With sincere thanks!

Goochland Countryfest: 05/03/08

Goochland Countryfest

It was a beautiful day as Goochland residents gathered for Goochland Country Parks and Recreation Department’s Goochland Countryfest on Saturday, May 3, 2008. This fun-filled event brought the community together for some fun in the sun as kids played on a moon bounces, family and friends enjoyed live entertainment, delicious food and experienced the offerings of various Goochland organizations. Dr. Eric R. Carlsen, owner of Family Chiropractic Center of Richmond, was giving complimentary computerized posture screenings in an effort to educate the community about overall health and well being. This analysis allowed participants to view current computerized illustration of their structural posture, and the potential long term effects it can have on one’s health.

A Day In The Life of Goochland: 07/18/07

A Day in the Life of Goochland

Dr. Eric R. Carlsen was in the August 1, 2007 issue of The Goochland Courier in the section titled, “Life Happens in Goochland.” This section of the paper featured various “happenings” in Goochland from noon to noon, July 17-18, 2007.  As the paper states, “Life happens in Goochland...it never stops. There’s activity around the clock. People work, children play and go to school. Often unnoticed, many are responsible for making an ordinary day truly extraordinary.”

Children & Chiropractic: July 2007

Children & Chiropractic

Above, Dr. Carlsen adjusts an 8 month old baby.  Children benefit tremendously from chiropractic care, especially as their bodies grow and bones develop. Here are eight reasons to have your children checked:

  1. Spinal trauma in infants and children can occur as early as the birthing process.
  2. A child’s spine grows almost 50% in length during the first year (the equivalent of a six-footer growing to nine feet in just 12 months).
  3. Children suffer numerous accidents and falls while learning to walk, ride a bike, or even while jumping and running around.
  4. Correcting spinal problems at an early age can prevent the damage and complications most adults experience later in life.
  5. Since children undergo a tremendous amount of growth and development, their spinal health is vital during such formative stages.
  6. Doctors of Chiropractic have been providing safe and effective care for children for nearly 100 years.
  7. Dr. Carlsen has been trained to evaluate pediatric spinal problems and is skilled in how to identify and treat them.
  8. Spinal adjustments for infants and children are both gentle and safe.
