If you are like most of us, you are more than ready for the Summer of 2022. After spending years in COVID lock-down, you're ready to get out there but is your body ready to resume pre-Covid activities?
Take it Slow
If you haven't been doing regular exercise, jumping back into sports like tennis or golf might need more pre-game warm up than before. Injuries to the back, shoulders, knees, and hips can happen quickly in these sports. Make sure you are allocating at least 10-15 minutes of warm-up exercises before starting.
Hydrate
In the early months of summer (before the real heat sets in) you may forget to drink enough water. Lack of hydration can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, and more.
Apply Sun Screen
Don't forget this important step. Make sure you cover all exposed areas (don't forget the top of your head, men) and reapply often.
Nourish you Body
Summer is a great time to focus on clean eating. With farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, it's the perfect time to lighten your meal choices.
I hope that everyone has a safe, healthy, and fun summer. Remember to include regular chiropractic in your health plan to keep your body in alignment and ready to enjoy the weather!
Yours in health,
Dr. Carlsen
